Becoming a Member

Hello, Debut KidLit Authors!

This community has been established to give authors debuting in 2015 a place to share thoughts, insights, excitements, and woes as we embark on this new, exciting leg of the publishing journey (fearlessly!). Though it would be lovely to throw the doors wide open, the purpose of this community is to create a space where debut YA & MG authors engaged in traditional publishing can network and compare notes. To that end, we’d like to ensure that members are all in a similar place in the industry.

To apply for membership, you must:

• be publishing your debut in 2015 (this must be your actual debut, not just your debut in kidlit)
• write young adult or middle grade fiction
• be working with a traditional publisher (as listed in the Children’s Writer’s & Illustrator’s Market, the Children’s Book Council, or the SCBWI Market Surveys).
